Miley Cyrus Tickets Essay Contest

I received a considerable amount of emails with complaints about the essay I chose. It’s true that I asked for a creative essay, but to be honest when I got this essay I had a very distinct feeling that I should choose that one.

When talking to Theresa on the phone my feelings were confirmed. Theresa’s neighbors were in more need of the tickets than the essay stated. Alex, the daughter in the family who loves Miley Cyrus, also has cystic fibrosis. Theresa decided not to include that in the essay because she was afraid that it would be written off as another sob story. The more I spoke with Theresa on the phone, the more I knew that this was the right decision.

Theresa didn’t stop there. When she knew that Dan and his family had received the tickets, she went the extra step and arranged for Alex to meet with Miley personally. What better treasure on Earth is there than such good friends?

So, again I apologize, especially to those super creative essays that were nearly impossible to turn down. I’m glad I followed my feelings on this one.

Choosing an essay was hard. I honestly had a nightmare last night because of the stress. I realized that there are several main groups of essays, the ones where you claimed to be Miley’s biggest fan (and many were extremely convincing!), several where a very tragic thing had happened and where the tickets might do some real good to soothe some pain, and a handful of brilliant, clever, and creative essays.

I Chose Theresa’s essay “Dan the Man.” Her idea of giving the tickets to a family on her block that was unconditionally welcoming to her was inspiring to me. The problem I faced was that there were probably a lot of truthful essays about tragedy and pain, but also a fair share of untruthful ones, and there was no way for me to know which one was which. Also, it was difficult to empirically say which young person was really Miley’s biggest fan. Some of the creative ones almost won, but again, there was a dead tie on a lot of them.

Theresa’s essay on giving the tickets to this family wasn’t exaggerated or fantastical, but truly seemed to follow a principal that America can use more of. She wanted to give the tickets to a family who so warmly welcomed her family to a community. It is this story of ordinary people thinking not of themselves but of others first that touched me. There wasn’t any false patriotism or religiosity in the essay, just simple good will.

Thank you so much, everyone who participated in this contest. Hopefully, even if you didn’t win, the contest made you reflect a bit about life and the things that matter, I know it did for me.

I read the “Miley Tickets Inspire Contest” article in the Daily Herald, dated June 27, 2008, and decided to enter the contest on behalf of a future neighbor in Tooele. This article came at the right time. We want to do something special for this man and his family. This man’s name is Dan. His wife’s name is Shawn and their daughter’s name is Natalie. They are an awesome family and have made us feel that we will not be strangers when we move to Tooele.
On June 20, 2008, our family went searching for a home. When we were looking at the home at 822 West and 660 South, Dan came over to introduce himself. He asked about our family, told us about the people in our neighborhood and his family. He wanted to let us know that the people there were sociable.
At the end of the day we returned to the home on 660 South to sign the purchase agreement. After the papers were signed, Dan invited us over to his house to meet some of the neighbors. Dan and his family gave us a housewarming gift and he told us they would have a block party for us when we move in. We were amazed.
On June 25, 2008 we returned to measure the rooms for furniture. The realtor had trouble opening the home. It was 90 degrees outside. Dan invited us into their air-conditioned home and we talked about families. He mentioned the Stadium of Fire and how Natalie loves Miley Cyrus. He also reminded us that he would have a block party for us when we move there in August. When it was time to go into our house, Dan walked with us across the street to say hi to my husband.
We think that Dan and his family would be awesome people for anybody to sit next to at the Stadium of Fire. He would never forget such a surprise and would tell everybody about it. He would have trouble knowing who entered his name because many neighbors would do it if they knew about the contest and we would enjoy the secret.

While it is common knowledge that the Chinese invented fireworks it is not so commonly known as to why we Americans are so fascinated and in love with these beautiful displays of color. Well I am going to let you in on the big secret. Yes, secret and by the end of this essay you will know why it is such.
It started long ago just after the Chinese had perfected the firework. They were so pleased with what  they had created they figured there must be a God of fireworks, and after determining this it was found necessary to make a sacrifice unto this God to show their appreciation for the wonderful gift bestowed upon them.  It was discussed, and then decided that an infant should be placed in a basket made of reeds and placed in the ocean. And so it was done.
The Chinese never knew what became of the child; it was assumed that it drifted off into the sea to meet up with the God of fireworks. Little did they know that incredible works came about and the basket made it to the American continent where the child lived and grew. Thus the Americas were populated and inhabited by the off spring of this child. Yes, yes, it’s true! The baring straight had nothing to do with it!
Thus, Americans love fireworks not only for their entertainment, color, sound, and awe, but because it is in our DNA, our heritage, the stuff we are made of has firework written all over it. It is imprinted on our souls.
As it happens I am a direct decedent of the sacrificial child. Yep, it’s true. So it is only imaginable how BADLY I would love to go to the Stadium of Fire and watch the majestic, amazing, ooo and aaawe inspiring, stupindus, tremendous, wonderful FIREWORK EXTRAVIGANZA!!!
Oh, and if you haven’t put it together by now, of course we aren’t going to give CHINA any more credit then we have to! Hey, they are our competition!

We started this essay writing business last week and now we are down to the wire.  I don’t know if I can type three hundred words in 7 minutes, But i will try.  I hope that we can we these tickets for Lizzy and her brothers.  They are a bunch of great kids.  Last week when we started writing essays, we were in California visiting our family.  My kids were stuck with me for 24 hours a day for 10 days.  Stuck in a hotel.  We did go swimming and eating.  But after ten days they have had one day of freedom to do as they please.  And Tonight they are sleeping at my sisters because it is my 14th wedding anniversary.  That was their present to us one night alone after ten in a row all together in a hotel.  I think a big Freedom celebration would cap off our family fun.  i hope this is three hundred words and that you feel we deserve it enough since we have been watching, reading and writing for almost a week now.  Good night!!!  The kids really deserve the tickets after all that boring parent time.

Why do I deserve the tickets?  Let me count the ways:
I’ve seen every “Hannah Montana” episode, AND I’m a too old to be admit my addiction.
I can sing along to the Hannah Montana theme song/intro.
I can say the lines for every character in Hannah Montana…at the same time, or before the characters do.
I knew who Miley Cyrus was before she came to Utah.
I have seen the Blue Man Group of TV
I can stand on one foot.
I’ve managed to never let anyone know that I can’t stand on my head.
I once took Ballet.
I was smart enough to stop taking Ballet before we got to the “bleeding feet.”
I can play the French Horn.
I can’t whistle, but I’ve managed to not let many people know about that.
I’ve read a zillion books.
I can make bread, from scratch.
I can burn bread, too.
I can stand on one foot, rub my head, AND pat my tummy, while grinning.
I can sing the Pledge of Allegiance.
I know the Florida State Song.
I can tell the difference between an Alligator and a Crocodile – and I once did.
I have been to the Alamo.
I can quote the commander of the said Alamo.
I’ve never been to Boston in the Fall.
I eat vegetables.
I always eat my celery.
I’ve read Shakespeare.
I love Sherlock Holmes.
I have never had a cat.
I love Anne of Green Gables.
I know that Darth Vader’s Theme is just a variation on the Death March.
I know how many days are in each month.
I learned my alphabet before I knew how to spell my name.
And last but not least, I am a stupendous, wonderful, crazy, zany person who would love to go to the concert.

Excitement grows amongst the crowds of people rushing to take their seats.  I hear loud voices talking all around me.  Over my left shoulder are three little toe headed girls with their hair done up in pigtails waving their little flags dressed in red, white and blue.   Not far in age from one another and how innocent they are; full of giggles and joy to be outside on a spectacular night.  Over to my right side I see an elderly man grab his sweethearts hand and gleefully they smile at one another like it is their first date all over again. Any minute the show will begin.  With much anticipation everyone stares straight ahead to Glen Beck to kick off the program.

What an honor it is to solute the star spangled banner be pleased about our independence.  Everyone here for one common purpose celebrate freedom united as Americans.  Oh how liberating, exhilarating and awe-inspiring to show respect for the flag.  In God We Trust may this great nation stand.

Entertainment is starting as Miley and Blue Man Group take the stand.  The music bass is thumping loudly through-out the bleachers.  Everyone stomping their feet to the same beat, up down up down.  All hands swaying to the music enjoying every moment they can.  Hands of all different shapes and sizes some old and weathered some new and fragile.  Amazing how they stole the hearts of everyone.

Time passes so fast. Shrills and shrieking sounds are all engaging as rockets shoot up in the air.  Earsplitting, thunderous burst of fireworks boom all around us.  The fiery bliss of red purple trepid lights sparkles in the sky.  Ooh so pretty, aah what a night!

Someone shaking me back and forth, I hear a distant voice almost too familiar at home.  “Wake up, wake up you’re going to be late again.”  Groggily I roll over and mutter, “I can dream can’t I.”  Oh how I wish that my dream could come true to be in LaVell Edwards Stadium and witness an incredible event this Fourth of July.

Ahoy!

Me heard tale of this landlubber of a gal, Miley Cyrus, performing her mu-sic here in the salty, but dry state of Utah.  Ah, Utah tis close to me heart, but it ‘bout tears me soul out to see such lovely water with no waves.  I s’pose I could imagine it, but tw’ouldn’t be the same.  I miss the call of the Ocean, and the wide, wild waves, threating to dash ye to pieces.  I could stare at ye yonder sky, I s’pose, but tis not the same, though it is beautiful, and wild in it’s own way, bless it’s heart.

And all this sand.  Sand, dry sand, an’ not a Sea Turtle for miles around – this desert, I suppose ‘tis just like the Ocean o’ me heart, only without the lovely hearty smell in the morn’n, an’ no wind in yer face, unless ye stick yer head out in’ traffic.  I miss the excitement of the Sea, ye see.  The only excitement around seems to be in this ‘Stadium of Fire’ people are gabb’n about lately, and this Miley Cyrus.

What would make a right-o land-lubber like Miley Cyrus sing like she does?  Must be a bit o’ mer-fish in her blood.  Mermaid, or such.  She would make a Sailor go mad.  That siren can sing a tune to rival some of the Sea Chanties me used to sing.  I miss the sound o’ the waves on the rocks, and the oceans, but that gal is a right bit of goodness, and t’would go far towards mak’n a great evening.

A few moments of the nice concert t’would go a long way towards help’n me land-locked, sea-lov’n self have a great, stupendous Forth of Ju’ly.

And me did hear something ‘bout Fireworks – we didn’t have those at the sea, no sirree.  Must be a land lubber thing, ‘nd something me old heart can get used to, aye!

I don’t have any tragic tales of sacrifice or loss. My life is not a story of defeat. I don’t have a heart-wrenching story to make you think I deserve the tickets above all the others. However, I do have a well written essay that will hopefully help me gain favor in your eyes. Enjoy.
Every year the end of June brings with it the sound of lawn mowers in the evening, hot mornings and the beginning of the Freedom Festival Celebrations. It kicks off with the Children’s Parade while homemade floats and patriotically decorated bikes fill the street. It includes the Balloon Fest where the sound of rushing, hot air fills these and gracefully carries away competing baskets. There is food and fun at the downtown festival where you can buy anything from a charicature drawing to a Native American hand woven blanket. Let’s not forget the night of the third. The long night where the lawns in front of the street are filled with blankets and people staying up all night to guard their spot for the next morning’s parade. The night is filled with donut runs, card games and fireworks that make it almost impossible to get any shut eye. The next morning we watch as floats carrying royalty, old models of cars transporting people of grave importance, ballons in the shape of cartoon charaters. Marching bands and military men, governers and pooper scoopers all litter the street for two hours as they walk the specific route of University Ave. and then left on Center Street.
From there we leave the parade route and make it home where we host barbeques and watermelon fests. Sometime during the afternoon we hope to squeeze in a short nap to rest us up for the evening becasue the evening is the grand finale of it all; the STADIUM OF FIRE!
I love the Stadium of Fire. I love sitting in the nose bleed section because they’re the cheapest seats. I’m reminded of my grandfather who was a POW for six years in the Vietnam war as the rush of the jets in formation fly over. I love the great entertainment that is selected year after year. I love the respect shown as different military services are performed. I love the feeling of loyalty that connects all of us together for those hours. And of course the night, the week, the celebration ends with a bang, litteraly. The sky is lit up with hundreds of colors and shapes and shapes as the rockets red glare flashes against the velvet sky. If you can’t feel the bang reverberate through your chest then it’s not a Stadium of Fire firework.
I love the idea of the Freedom Festival. I love that we are able to celebrate this wonderful freedom while still remembering the price that was paid as we stand up and have a moment of silence as the flag walks by. I am grateful for America and for all of the blessings and joys I am able to experience in celebration of this holiday.

Why Our Family Would LOVE To
Go To The Stadium of Fire 2008

There are a lot of reasons that our family would love to go to the Stadium of Fire this year.

1) Our girls (ages 3, 9, and 15) like Miley Cyrus a lot.  That’s quite an age spread!  They all love to sing and dance and have been entranced with both Hannah Montana and High School Musical (DISNEY).  We would love to see their big smiles as they watch Miley perform. It will be an unforgettable night for them!  And what a fun story to tell generations to come about how we got the tickets for them!!

3) Our two oldest daughters have all the Miley and Hannah songs memorized word-for-word!

4)  Our oldest daughter does NOT like to do dishes.  However, she wanted to pre-order the new Miley album “Breakout” so badly that she did ALL the dishes yesterday if only I would pay the shipping on the CD.  She paid the rest herself.  We couldn’t believe she really did all the dishes!!!

5) Our 6-year-old son loves the Blue Man Group.  We would love to see HIS big smile while he watches them perform.  It’s great that there’s something for him to enoy on the 4th, too!

6) The entertainment this year at the Stadium of Fire is just perfect for our family: something for each of us!!

7) Our family has never had the pleasure of going to the Stadium of Fire, although we often drive to the Orem/Provo hill and watch what fireworks we can see from our car.  Maybe, just maybe, this will be the year!

If we win this contest, we will be so excited to give them one of the nicest gifts we’ve ever been able to give them.

It all started millions of years ago.  When this earth was being created. But we won’t start that far back.  Lets jump to the time Christopher Columbus discovered america.

This was the start of a million wonderous things to happen.  The biggest one being 1776.  When this wonderful land we live in became free.

Generations have since come and gone.  Today is a wonderful day field with endless possiblities.  As i sit and watch my 6 year old sing to Hannah Montana wondering how she could already be six and going crazy after her first rock star.

She has no care in the world.  She has a home she had good parents and she has food that was bought with the money her dad makes from his job.

She is being a true kid. She is reaping all the bennifets that all those who have worked so hard to make this land of Freedom.

I am always amazed by the fireworks.  I can picture the words of the star spangle banner ” and the rockets with glare the bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night that our flag was still there” I can see the bombs bursting when i see the fireworks go up in the air.

So as we celebrate this coming fourth of july. As we are singing with our favorite rock star Hannah Montana or watching the blue man group. Even as we are watching the fireworks go off. Let us remember why we are there for.  We wanted to be free, we wanted to worship how we wanted to.  So let us remember how it all started.

Have you ever wanted something so bad that you will do just about
anything to get it?  Well, I have.  I really want to win tickets to the “Stadium of Fire” concert!  My first attempt at winning tickets was an entry in a raffle, the second was competing in the “Miley Mania Adventure” race throughout the Wassatch, and this is my third.
I entered my mom and I in the race, and we were one out of twenty teams picked to race.  We figured our odds were pretty good out of twenty teams.  And, when only 15 teams showed up on race day, we just knew we were going to win!  After all, the first five teams to finish would receive at least two tickets.
Through the first four stages of the race, we were one of four teams leading.  However, at stage five, two teams caught up.  We still thought we had a wonderful chance of winning at least fifth place, and receiving two tickets.  However, things did not quite add up like we thought they would.
We rode a bus to the sixth and final stage with five other teams.  The two teams that had caught up to us decided to stay on the bus to complete their journey.  We decided to stick with the three teams we had been with throughout the race, so we got off and rode the Trax.
When we arrived at our destination, the Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City, we ran feverously up the steps to the Megaplex.  To our dismay, the other two teams had already arrived, and the first two places had been decided.  Yet, we still had a chance to take third, fourth, or fifth.  All we had to do is get the wish bone, the ice cream cone, and the Charlie horse out of the Operation game.  The wish bone and ice cream cone were retrieved quickly.  All that was left to do is pull out the Charlie horse.  Yeah, right!  After only five tries, he came out.  And guess what, we came in sixth!!!
My mom and I were extremely proud of finishing the race.  We were actually one of only “six” teams that completed the entire race.  It was a great accomplishment.  Still, we were the only team out of the six teams to finish that did not receive any tickets.
My mom and I have tried hard to win tickets to the concert, and we hope the third try will be a charm!

I would love to get these tickets.  I would love to have this honor for many reasons.  First, I would get to visit my sister while she works for Stadium of Fire, managing concessions.  Second, I would LOVE to see a bunch of cool, musical and blue artists as well as Miley Cyrus.  Lastly, I would be very grateful, appreciative & I would say ‘thank you.’

If I was picked, I would be so overjoyed, I would sing this song for you.

I looked on the web and what did I see?  Miley Cyrus tickets are waiting for me.  You have brought me such a nice surprise.  Fireworks blowing up before my eyes.  I could take a handful of my friends, treat them to a concert with Glenn Beck.  It may not come to pass, but I can daydream.  Miley Cyrus tickets are waiting for me

Lastly:  I would be the best person to get these tickets because for me, life is a musical and involves song , dance, drama & silliness.  Life is to be enjoyed, not watched from the sidelines, and going to this concert would be the equivalent of getting to visit the Chocolate Factory from ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’  In fact, it would be better.  (And, yes, I would run around singing “I’ve got a Golden Ticket! I’ve got a Golden Ticket!  I’ve got a Golden twinkle in my eye!” if I did receive one)  I can picture the Blue Man Group singing like Oompa Loompas. Looking at Miley Cyrus, they would sing,

“What do you do with a Disney Starlet?  Give her a stage and a crowd to sing at.  Singing and dancing, around the stage, capturing the attention of every one  –
Miley!   *half of them stand up*
Cyrus!   *they bend down, other half stands up*
Doom pa dee doo!

So, going to the Concert, and seeing the Fireworks show, would be a Golden, Chocolate-factory like experience for me – if I get that Golden Ticket.

I am dying to see Miley Cyrus in concert and to prove it I will explain myself using the letters of her name.

M-Her music moves me. I’m not making up mush. Every time those magnificent melodies permeate my mind, magic melts into my membranes, making my motions miraculous for the maladroit I am.

I-I idolize her. She is ideal and incredible. Her image is illustrious and interesting. My instinct is to imitate her identity and to improve every inch of my intellect.

L-I love to lay in the living room as she and Emily lighten my tv. Miley and Lilly learn to listen and lend a lifting hand as they live double lives. I am always left with a laugh.

E-Her energy and enthusiasm enlighten me.  I envy her eagerness to experience life. I am encouraged to emulate her extensive achievements.

Y-I’m young only for a few years until my youth becomes yesterday.

C-Countless girls are considered discourteous and proclaim contempt concerning their families, but I am quite the contrary. I care for my clan and comply cheerfully to my parents commands. I can clean, cook, and I always come when called.

Y-I yearn to yell happily instead of yawning sadly, so just say yes.

R-I realize my rivals have written rigorously, but I really request the end result to reflect the rare radiance of this original argument.

U-You should understand undeniably by now, so I urge you to not underestimate my utterance.

S-The supreme way to sympathize as to why I should see this superstar is to send me to the stadium and sit me in those stupendous seats. My smile will be more super and sizable than any other spectator as she steals the stage and leaves me spellbound.

Once upon a time, there was a young man. That’s right, a young MAN. That man is shooting for free Miley Cyrus tickets.

That’s how secure he is in his masculinity.

That young man, my friends, is me.
I suppose it all really started while studying organic chemistry. I was working with a friend on certain reactions and the circumstances that make them happen. Our focus wasn’t too strong at the time, however, because we were right outside a big youth dance. While discussing the difference between substitution and elimination reactions, Miley’s “See You Again” came on at a very high volume. We both sort of smiled, and kept talking. Then, suddenly, in a moment of gloriously unrehearsed perfect comedic timing, we looked straight at each other and said in perfect rhythm, “Oh, SHE’S JUST BEING MILEY!”

Since that fateful day, we have adopted this as our lifetime philosophy. After all, what’s the point of life if you can’t be Miley now and again? Miley has now become our favorite adjective. We’re not entirely sure what it means, but we have faith that being Miley can’t be a bad thing. Hey, look we got good grades on that test! “Dude, we’re just being Miley!” Any time he feels particularly confident? “Oh, he’s just being Miley.” Am I having a particularly good day? “I’m just being Miley!” No further explanation is required. Being Miley is just that way. It’s intuitive. It’s more than a feeling.

If awarded these tickets, I will truly be Miley that day. It will be that good. It would be the Miley-est day of my life. Me and this friend of mine (and our wives, probably) will go and have a blast. Sure, we may not know any of the words, but we know one line, and when Ms. Cyrus sings it, we will most certainly be ready. And we will most certainly be Miley.

“Sweet Niblets!”  I have a chance to win four tickets to see Miley Cyrus in concert.  You ask why I deserve the tickets, let me tell you 7 Things you ought to know.  Some of them may sound familiar.  (I know Hannah Montana would recognize them.)  First and most important, let’s go GNO!  It would be awesome to go to the concert with my sister, my mom, my friend and me for a Girls Night Out.  Second, I would love to see Miley Cyrus perform in real life instead of just on the Disney Channel (actually we all would).  It would be a fantastic experience to be Part of Your World, that is Miley’s world for just one night.  The third thing you ought to know (and probably already do) is that Miley has a great voice and amazing talent and personality.  I love everything about her, as most girls my age do.  I even wish I had her bedroom, her closet with all those clothes, shoes and accessories.  I want to be Just Like You, Miley, you are a great role model.  Now onto the fourth thing you ought to know, and let me just tell you a little bit more about me.  This year I wasn’t able to celebrate my birthday with friends.  But, this concert would be the best birthday present anyone could ever ask for.  I’ll be Pumpin’ Up the Party with Miley and friends.  The fifth thing you ought to know is a little sad for me and my sister, but Life’s What You Make It, and I want to make it great!  My family and I have just moved to Utah all the way from Virginia.  We’ve heard that the Stadium of Fire Celebration is an awesome firework display each year.  This year will be even more spectacular since Miley Cyrus and the Blue Man Group will also be performing.  I really miss my friends in Virginia.  But “with a new attitude everything can change.”  Since I can’t be with my friends in Virginia this summer, I really want to win these tickets so I can Make Some Noise like a Rock Star and then tell them all about winning the contest and going to the concert.  I know they would also be so excited for me.  The sixth thing you ought to know is kind of like my second thing I already shared.  I would love to see Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana perform on stage.  I wonder if Robbie Ray Stewart will perform with Miley.  Maybe he would play the guitar while she is singing.  It would be a One In A Million chance of a lifetime dream come true.  (By the way, my mom is a fan of Billy Ray Cyrus.)  Finally, the seventh thing you ought to know is that if you “mix these all together then you know that it’s the Best of Both Worlds!”   That is my world with my mom, my sister and my new friend, each of them a True Friend, mixed with the world of Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana for just one night.  One night of fun and excitement with many memories that we can each keep forever.  “Sweet doggies, I’m on fire.”  I’d love to go to the Miley Cyrus concert!

This is a practically true story.  The story is about a young boy named Rav whose tickets were stolen by Raymond Roadrunner.  ‘Come back here Raymond Roadrunner, come back with my tickets!’  Said the boy.
‘Beep beep’ said the Roadrunner.  I quickly used google translate (Roadrunner to English) to understand what the Roadrunner said, and this is what he said , ‘Not a chance little boy, I’m about to go jump through a portal to get me to the desert of Utah, so it will be impossible to catch me before I get to the stadium.’  Said Raymond the Roadrunner.
‘Calling agent Wiley’ said the boy (dah, dah, duuh dah dah – theme music).
‘What is it Rav?’, said Wiley Coyote.
‘That evil road runner has stolen my tickets, and it will be your job to stop him.  He went into a portal all the way down to the Utah desert.  You have the advantage by the mountain, use it well!  (theme music, dah dah, duh dah dah)
‘So, I have an advantage’ said Wiley Coyote, ‘better get a move on it.’
Wiley jumped through the portal and landed in the desert near the Roadrunner.
‘Beep beep’ said Raymond Roadrunner as he was running.  The google translator said that meant, ‘here is my ticket to the concert, there should be a tunnel through the mountain, just about there…’
Meanwhile, up on the mountain Wiley Coyote had just spray-painted a tunnel archway on the Rocky Mountains.  ‘There is my trap, now for the prize’ said Wiley.
‘And there is the road runner’ said Wiley, grinning.
The road runner ran straight through the tunnel.
‘What!’ said Wiley, ‘that defies the laws of physics!
‘Beep beep,’ said the roadrunner as he whooshed past Wiley.
Wiley just looked sad, then he heard ‘Beep beep’ again.  But this time the beeping was from an 18 wheeler.
Boom, crash.  Wiley was smashed flat.  The truck went right through the tunnel.
‘Okay,’ said Wiley as he came back to life, this time I’ve got a hang glider on my side.  And off he went…jumping of the mountain with the glider.
After an amazingly long glide, Wiley said to himself ‘Wheee, there is the stadium’ and he landed gently on the roof.  ‘Not exactly where I intended to land, but I can still stadium dive.’
The roadrunner was just about at the ticket gate, he was a little early and the show had not started yet.
‘Bombs away roadrunner’ cried Wiley as he dove down the building.
‘Ooops, he got through, and there are the fireworks’ said Wiley.
The fireworks were lined up in boxes beside the stadium waiting to be used.
The road runner threw a lit match and it landed in Wiley’s hand.
‘Beep beep’ said the roadrunner as Wiley dropped the hot match and watched it fall onto the fireworks.
Well, Wiley Coyote got to see an early fireworks display.  It was quite a show, watched by the Roadrunner, with Wiley blasted through the ring of fire for an early Finale.  Fortunately there were extra fireworks, and there is still time left for me to find tickets.
And that’s why I think you should give me the tickets, because Raymond the Roadrunner took my tickets, and Wiley Coyote went to all that trouble to get them back for me, but obviously he was not very successful.

I don’t know how much I deserve the tickets but  I know that if anyone deserves the tickets it’s my mom. She has just had a little baby, still has to cope with her 4 other children (ranging in age from 5-13) and as my father is trying to begin his own law office we have limited money supplies.

My baby sister is so cute but she never sleeps. I am barely exaggerating. she cries and cries and cries because she is tired but she never wants to sleep. this also means that my mom does not get any sleep.It is like a chain reaction, Sarah doesn’t get any sleep, mom doesn’t get sleep. That means that mom is going to be grumpy. that makes sure that there isn’t a good spirit in our house.

Although I hate to admit this my brothers and sisters always fight. My mom always has to listen to us bicker and fight over something ridculous like whose turn it is to feed the dogs. She tells us to stop fighting but I think that we won’t until we are 20. She belives that your sister/brother should be your best friend.

I always ask my mom for stuff and she feels bad that she can’t afford it for me. She tries to keep me healthy and such but knowing me it is really hard for her to get me to the gym.

I know I sound like I want you to throw me a pity party. Maybe I do. Maybe all I wanted was somebody to share my problems with. Maybe this is a way of letting out my feelings. Maybe not. I am exaggerating a little.(ha ha) All I know is that my mom (and yes I) would enjoy the Stadium of Fire tickects. Thanks for the chance.

Hi, I don’t really want to go to the stadium of fire. Although I have wanted to see the Blue Man Group since the dawn of my adolescence (which was actually some time ago), I can see the fireworks from where I live, and I would rather watch them at home with my husband and kids, instead of braving the traffic when they should be in bed.
So why am I writing to you? I wanted to let you know about this terrific family I met. My dad just got a new job, and so my family had to move to Tooele. I didn’t want them to move away. You could say I “felt like I couldn’t breathe.” However, once they got there (and I mean right at once) they met Dan and his family. Before they could even look at the house they ended up buying (my guess is more so for the neighbors than the building), Dan came out to greet them. In fact, every time they went to look at the house Dan and his family invited them to go into their living room, to have something to drink, and to chat for awhile. Of course, “awhile” usually lasted for at least half an hour. This amazing family joked with my parents and sisters, seet them right at ease and made them look forward to moving instead of being so reluctant like they had been. I can’t even complain. I’m so excited for my family to have these people for their neighbors. On one of the visits, their little girl mentioned how much she likes Miley Cyrus (although I bet her parents would enjoy the Blue Man Group). Her friend is going to the concert, but her parents weren’t about to fork out the dough. I wanted to do something nice for them, so I thought that I would try to win these tickets for them. They have been so good–and not just to my parents. They are all active in the community. They throw block parties (promised to give one for my parents when they moved in), Dan volunteers for the police and used to have a soup kitchen in Alaska. Shaun, his wife, does crafts and was preparing for a craft show when my parents met her. Their daughter is a little quiet, but incredibly fun to talk to. I wish I could explain better how funny these people are, too. But you’ll just have to pick them and then talk to them yourself to find out!
